Birds applique project

I haven't reported on my birds applique project for a while.   This is the one that was inspired by a couple of Blackbird Designs bird quilts, and had been on my Quilt Bucket List forever. We've had quite a few "bad-weather-stay-at-home" days during February, and I actually made great progress on it!

Where I left off last month:

Final blocks appliqued:

Decorative corners:

 Sashing and cornerstones:

They're done in cute little bird and feather fabrics:

Working outward to final rounds:

Border sections done:

So now it's all ready for layering and quilting!  I'm pleased that I was able to get it this far along -- it's likely now that I'll have it completed for use this spring, coming up next month!  I think I'm going to call it 'Twitter.'

Love the bird quilt you have in the works. Blackbird Designs does it well.
