Although this is a classic block, this was the first time I ever pieced one.  I found it to be CHALLENGING, can't imagine making an entire quilt's-worth of these!

 Here's my next block for the POTLUCK sew-along series from Sentimental Stitches.  The block finishes at 21" and has 132 pieces.

This year-long pattern series was developed by Gay Bomers from an interesting antique sampler quilt in her collection.  Gay does an outstanding job of creating modern patterns from vintage textiles.  I'm sewing along on this one to consume some of my extensive 30s fabric stash.

Today is the kickoff for the

  POTLUCK block-of-the-week Sewalong 

at Sentimental Stitches.

The pattern was developed by Gay Bomers from a vintage sampler quilt in her collection.  The series will run throughout the year, with patterns being released on Fridays.
