Aha -- I found this forgotten applique BOM in the back of a drawer!  The series had just started last spring, and then I got tangled up and distracted with medical stuff and put it away -- out of sight, out of mind.  Let's see if I get re-inspired.

Barbara Brackman is launching a new sew-along series today

FREEDOM'S FRIENDS

The topic of the series is the Underground Railroad in Philadelphia.  It will be an applique BOM featuring traditional motifs, but I've decided to be non-traditional with my fabrics and method.  I'll be using vivid modern colors and embroidered raw-edge shapes for my blocks.
