"Not My President Day" Observance!
Protests took place all across the nation yesterday for Not My President Day. We were out at Long Beach City Hall with many many others. I never dreamed I'd be this person at this time in my life, and yet here we are.

It's Week 4 for Bonnie Hunter's 2024 Quiltville mystery
We are making **many** half square triangles this time.
I'm up to date with all four clues so far: lots and lots and LOTS of "parts" done already!
Looking forward to creating blocks soon :)

Onward to the next decade ...
I enjoy this excerpt from Ceremonials of Common Days by Abbie Graham. It was the inspiration for one of my philosophies of life: I've always made it a practice to celebrate every day as special, even the ordinary ones -- Ceremonials!
The very precious gift that I received yesterday from my family was this list of ways our days have been special. It would seem that my efforts have been noticed :)

On the Fourth Day of Christmas ...
... I'm grateful for joy and fun in my life!
So: Big Bear Lake is absolutely a fun place to live! It's a major vacation destination for guests from Los Angeles, and there is always something interesting going on. We have outdoor sports, museums, a zoo, concerts and theater performances, festivals and events -- never a dull moment.
That being said, we did travel extensively this year, and I had different new kinds of fun. I enjoyed the company of extended family, met new friends, experienced quite a few foods for the first time, and toured a number of new museums. I visited wineries and breweries and cideries. I saw new birds and animals. I dipped my toe in both oceans! I saw sunrises and sunsets and awesome panoramas.
I smiled and laughed a lot this year! The world is such a wonderful place! Every day is a new joy.

Tuesday
A long string of photos -- these are actually pictures from last week's excursion to Plimouth Plantation and Plymouth Rock.I just got to them now, and I wanted to save the memories. We've really enjoyed sightseeing around New England during this visit! We saw some old favorites, and explored some new places that we hadn't been to before.
