This quilt sort of looks like ribbons and bows, so 'wrapping presents'.  And also this is my final quilt of the year so I'm 'wrapping up' the quilt studio for 2025.

Done and ready to use during the holiday season!

This is #957 on my lifetime quilt completions list.  Each one now, I wonder if it will be my last quilt.

In an unprecedented flurry of productivity, today I finished this Spicy Plaid companion quilt.  It coordinates with the dogtooth applique quilt I shared the other day.  Both are quilted and bound -- DONE -- so that's TWO completions in one week!!  I'm finally ready to break down this project tub, and all the fabrics that have been in reserve for two years can be returned to general population.

I'm not sure what comes next with quiltmaking.  No ideas or inspirations simmering at this time.

Well here's an accomplishment!

I started this quilt more than 2 years ago and finally got it across the finish line.  The quilt comes from a Barbara Brackman BOM series featuring dogtooth applique, a specialized technique from the 1800s.

My applique skills aren't very good, and my applique efforts usually turn out to be 'folk art leaning toward primitive' rather than formal and precise.  This is a rather casual technique though, so it turns out to have been appropriate for my style.

And that's another UFO done!

Abominable Tariffs

 This morning Barbara Brackman continued her timely series about tariffs with a look at the confusing De Minimis import tax exemption.  We probably won't be ordering any artwork or gifts or supplies from overseas in the foreseeable future, sigh.

The bee quilt is done!  I just finished stitching down the binding, so it's officially checked off my To-Do list.  Nothing new on my quilty radar at this time, so I'm heading back over to embroidery.

Woohoo -- got this one across the finish line today -- fresh out of the dryer!  I was worried about it lapsing into UFO-dom, so I made the effort and got it quilted and bound. The woven Fableism fabrics are especially soft and snuggly.

Sigh. Very little getting done in the quilt making department anymore.

A finish!

 Starowka, the 2024 Quiltville mystery, is quilted, bound, washed and dried -- done!!

I was aiming for a light bright springtime palette, and this quilt certainly meets that goal.  The intricate pieced design -- a trademark of Quiltville patterns -- is rather too busy for my taste.  In any case, I'm giving myself big pats on the back and high-fives for taking this project across the finish line.  My quilty mojo is very low these days, and I almost let this one lapse into UFO-ness.  But with perseverance I now have a lovely new Spring/Easter quilt.

Absolutely positively for sure this concludes my 'sew along' days.  Any more quilts I make from now on will be creations based on my own design inspirations and will be worked at my own pace.

The blue Disappearing 9-patch blocks came together into a nice bright interesting top!  It's actually larger than I expected, about 65" x 65".  It will be waiting in the To-Be-Quilted basket until I need a donation quilt.

Well, I reached my max attention span with Starowka today.  It's supposed to have another pieced border, but this is as far as I'm going to take it.  Enough little pieces!  This burnout is why I don't often do Quiltville mysteries: Bonnie loves the zillions-of-little-pieces style, but I get overdone!  Just a quickie snapshot in dim end-of-afternoon courtyard light -- I'll do a truer-color portrait later,
