Susan B.'s Star
I finished appliqueing the February block for
Barbara Brackman's monthly series
This month Barbara discussed Susan B. Anthony's lectures and activism, both regarding women's rights and civil rights. She'd fit right into today's political scene!
I'm feeling better about using the red backgrounds for this quilt. I'm not a good applique-er and this was a challenging block for me: my star points are "quaint" :)

I think your star points are perfect (in an imperfect sort of way), Jeanne! You know real hands stitched the star, not a machine. And I like the red background. I think the fabrics you used for the flags are just right. I like the proportion.
I keep going back and forth with myself about this sew-along. I will, I won't, I don't, maybe I will.... If I'm going to I'll have to do it soon or I'll be too far behind to catch up.
