Wilma, the pumpkin-head witch

I attended a doll-making workshop this past weekend at Patchworks, my LQS.  This is Janet Schultz, the teacher.  She's an enthusiastic instructor and a dedicated doll-maker.  Janet is a new resident here in Bear Valley, but she's been teaching and selling dolls all around Southern California for quite a while.  She was just bubbling with ideas and hints and creative inspiration, all during the workshop!

Body parts ... an action shot :)

Wilma, my finished pumpkin-head doll.

I had a wonderful time at the class -- being creative away from home for two days was like a mini-vacation!  I learned a lot, and  I'm really pleased with my doll.  Someday (after I finish all my quilts) (ha, so probably not in this lifetime) I'll definitely be interested in further exploring doll-making/soft sculpture -- so many new ideas came home with me!
