Baskets and blocks

I've been making progress with my basket project. I got the borders put on yesterday, and I'm ready to layer and quilt. The border fabric was a serendipitous find from my stash: the diagonal plaid echoes the diagonal of the on-point blocks.

I like this top -- it looks soft and vintage to me, but it's not the usual pink and blue prints I'd typically expect to see in a 30s repro project.

Here's a quickie pic of my B-a-D blocks so far. Just about 150 done, not even half, and the stack is getting tall.

I love the baskets ! One of these days I'm going to make one of my own. Actually I want to make a liberated version and a traditional one so I guess I have 2 basket quilts on my list.

And the photo of the fruit and quilt blocks is also wonderful...it's one of those photographs that just makes you relax and take a deep breath!

Such a very pretty basket quilt! Are you going to hand quilt it? 150 blocks, and not done yet? Wow, what a wonderful quilt it will be!
