Sunny days

The weather has been lovely, and we're enjoying every springy day! Windows open, balmy sunshine, tulips in bloom, buds on the lilacs and fruit trees swelling open, robins and blue jays busy with nest building.

I've just finished two quilts -- my hands are tired from stitching binding! The first is my recent basket project, quilted with nice hanging diamonds to further emphasize the diagonals.

My second completion is an old UFO, started a couple of years ago with orphan blocks. I like to use 30s-style decor around the house in early summer because it feels light and cheerful ... so with these two finished, I'm all ready to change for the coming season. The flannel sheets will be going into storage this week!

Now I need to delve into my UFO tub and see what comes up next ...

Happy family news: While they were on vacation in Puerto Vallarta last week, Nick proposed and Stacey accepted! They've been together for four years now, and are as happy and well-suited and on track as we could possibly hope for. Stacey is a sweet gracious woman, and we couldn't be more delighted!

GRATITUDES

1. Strawberries from the Farmers Market
2. Comfortable shoes
3. Birds twittering in the yard at twilight

Those are definitely spring-y looking quilts, cheerful and soft.

Congrats on the newly engaged. Our DD has been with her boyfriend for 4+ years and we are wondering when such an announcement might come our way too:)
