Wednesday

I make an effort to work out in the studio on Mondays and Tuesdays, because most of the rest of my time is spent otherwise.  Even though it's been too hot to be out there as the afternoons wear on -- despite air conditioning -- I am getting some stuff accomplished in the mornings.  I want to change the two similar tan rows that are next to each other toward the right, but otherwise I'm pleased with my progress on the (mushroom) Magic Potion project.  I thought it would look more orange, but anyway it's a good showcase for these novelty fabrics and it's going to be an effective October quilt.

I'm considering launching a North Pole applique project next, to go with my developing 'Santa's Helpers' home decor theme for December.  In the past I used pine trees and winter as my holiday decorating themes, but they don't work for me here -- I still miss my mountain home.  Sigh.  I've had this pattern book for decades, maybe the time has come to give it a whirl.

Without a doubt the first quilt is an autumn quilt, no matter how you arrange the colors! Will the leaves change colors where you are now? Will you have the bright colors that we in the northeastern states have?
It's so hard to move from a place you loved. I think it gets harder as we grow older.
That's a fun quilt you have in mind to make for Christmas.

I've always had a thing for little houses (and small furniture too) so I'm going to enjoy watching the North Pole project evolve.
