Salon

I recently discovered Escape to the Chateau, a British TV series, and I've been treating myself to watching an old episode each day.  It's the story of a zany couple who purchased and have been restoring an abandoned chateau in France.

The storyline is enchanting, the cast members are jolly and endearing, and the photography is stunning.  It's an escape-from-reality fairy tale.  I'm ready to move to France, or at least to hold my next wedding there! 😉

And my current interest in the old chateau nudged me to explore the trunk full of French General fabrics in my stash, collected through the years.  It's been rainy, and I've been happily holed up in my sewing room, piecing soft elegant Salon Stars.

I've reassigned all my French General fabrics from the "SAVE for some mysterious special Someday" category to "I will not live long enough to use all my fabrics, so I might as well enjoy them right now."   I especially like this gorgeous border stripe!

A friend recently recommended Escape to the Chateau and I watched a few episodes last night. I will be treating myself to more tonight. What a delightful series! They work very hard and yet stay so cheerful. And their two children are adorable. I will eagerly await to see what you do with the French General fabric.

Is that show on Netflix? Or is it a you tube thing? Curious because I'd like to check it out. I like that mantra of enjoying fabrics now. I'm trying to do that too!

I enjoy Escape to the Chateau and 'zany couple' describes them perfectly.
Interestingly, I also have been going through my fabric stash and have begun making some things - made a couple of pillowcases yesterday; I have no need for more quilts so I decided to be practical. ^^
