Hi Jeanne! I absolutely agree with how pretty the Christmas lights in the dark winter night. I enjoy quite a few of them in the early morning hours. I leave my house at 4:45 and it's surprising how many are still lit at that time. Merry Christmas to you and your family. ~smile~ Roseanne
I'm a big Edith Sitwell fan (having studied her work in university) and always love that quote. Thanks for sharing. And lights are always so beautiful in the dark. I even enjoy the lone one we keep on all night over the big garage.
oh me too. It's my simple pleasure to walk after dark and see lights on houses. I wish they'd leave them up thru January since it's so cold and dark, we really need them.

I love the lights especially when you are way out away from all the light pollution of the city. Back country roads and the decorations are amazing.
My favourite is either white or blue lights, especially when it's snowy. That house looks so pretty!
Yes - Christmas lights at night are so warm and lovely. Your quote is terrific, too. Exactly what winter is about.
I love the lights, too! And your quote is perfect for winter- home is the best place to be!
