#8 Triple Tulips
This month, the medical care that was provided to wounded soldiers by smaller state relief agencies
is discussed.
We are nearing the end of this BOM. I have a plan for setting my blocks, but won't get to it until October.
We were fortunate to visit Orchard House, the Alcott family home, last week. While I was there I purchased a copy of Hospital Sketches, the Louisa May Alcott book that names this quilt.
It's a small book -- a quick read -- and some parts are very humorous and witty, while other chapters
are poignant and touching.

Your blocks are so, so pretty!! As a hospital nurse, I just love them! I can just imagine being a nurse in those days of little supplies and less time...and more dirt and bacteria.
Hi Jeane, I just read through your recent posts and so happy to have found you! Love all your blocks and reading about them. Also love the snippets of your life that you share. I do that too because I can't seem to not. How lucky to have visited Louisa's house. So much history all around us. What were you picking in the sunflowers? I joke that my wardrobe has slipped to "garden casual". Anyway, hope your Saturday is a great one!
Another beautiful block and they look so good together. Nice that you were able to find the book to go with them too.
Your blocks fit so nicely together. I like the colors you have chosen. How fortunate to be able to visit Orchard House. I bet it makes your quilt more meaningful to have visited the actual home and read Miss Alcott's words. I like having more of a connection to the quilts I am making.
