Hospital Sketches

Barbara Brackman's monthly applique series

#7 - Tennessee Rose

Our block this month is the traditional Rose of Sharon.  The accompanying article introduces Annie Bell, the matron (director) of Nashville, Tennessee's
 Cumberland Hospital.

My block set continues to flourish.  The series will conclude at the end of September.

Your blocks are all so pretty. This is a nice pace for a quilt along. In some other quiltalongs I have joined, there are many blocks in one month and at some point I get overwhelmed and distracted. The one block a month goes better. I sometimes get impatient for the next block, but when it is released, it doesn't take long to get it done, so it does get done.

So lovely~ You do such nice work. I should have joined this SAL and hired you to pick out my fabrics. The blocks just whisper serenity to me.
