English Toffee Scones

ENGLISH TOFFEE SCONES

2 cups flour
1/3 cup sugar
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
1/2 cup (8 tablespoons) butter
1/2 cup buttermilk
1 egg
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 cup toffee bits

Preheat oven to 450*.
Prepare a baking sheet with nonstick spray.
Combine dry ingredients in mixing bowl.
Cut in butter.
Add buttermilk, egg and vanilla and mix all together.
Fold in toffee bits.
Drop 1/2 cup mounds of dough onto baking sheet.
Bake for about 15 minutes at 450* until golden brown.

About 8 - 10 scones
