Baking Day




Both recipes from King Arthur Flour's SIFT magazine.
I'm apparently in a cooking phase here … sometimes I go for weeks making do with frozen stuff and eggs and 'out', and then suddenly I'm in the mood for baking and cooking.  Tomorrow I'm making sauerbraten and red cabbage for dinner :)

Ooh, I haven't had really good sauerbraten and red cabbage since my mother died in 1979. I've tried, but it's just not the same. Maybe it's time I try again.
