RSC17: January - purple

I made good progress with the purple scrap bag this week -- two new sets of sub-units were undertaken, which brings my tally of new starts for the year up to seven. (!!!)

The first purple things I worked on this week were these 4" x 8" geese units, which will be used in THIS scrappy quilt someday.
I chose to use a pale green solid as the background because of the quilt's name: Mountain Meadows.  I'll be making the smaller geese in the coming week as I continue to work with smaller and smaller scraps.

And then I made some 3" x 6" geese, to use in
THIS Toad Stool quilt (halfway down, light blue).
The paprika solid background is 'just because'.  I have a long yardage length of it, and this seemed like a good time to use it.

And finally, I finished making up the blocks for my
crib-quilt-of-the-month.
I'm moving right along with this one: my schedule for this project is to assemble the top next week, and then quilt it up the final week of the month.

Glad you were able to find a big piece of background fabric. It is nice to find something to use rather than buying new.

So fun! Love finding yardage in the stash to use up in these scrappy projects.

Toadstool! It is cute. You may be the first person to make one since 1907.

Thanks for pointing out Toadstool!!! I'm going to make one with toadstool background fabrics for my son-in-law and daughter who are Iowa certified mushroom foragers! I finally know how to use up those toadstool/mushroom fabrics.
