Thank you all for your kind expressions of sympathy! I was very close to my Dad, and will be sad for a long time, although I know he is resting now, finally.
On another level, we've been caregivers for both my parents for a number of years, and now they are both gone, within such a short time. We'll be moving into a new life phase -- sort of another "empty nest" experience for us -- so this will be a time of adjustment.
I'm looking forward to a quiet day at home today.
