'Tis the season for Christmas projects

Just finished this little holiday mat!  It was done for the Small Quilt of the Month challenge over at SmallQuiltTalk.  Kathleen Tracy's inspiration design was Amish style -- solids, cool colors, black background -- but somehow mine turned into a retro Christmas project.

I must have nearly a dozen of these little mini quilts by now -- I'll have to look back and count.  They're fun because they're do-able and quick.  I hope to continue the more-or-less-one-a-month pace next year, too.

Ah - a quilter! Red, white and green will always be my Christmas colours. Turquoise, silver, lime and such could never be right for me. I love your little quilt.

Cute! I need to make some "mug rugs". As a quilter, should I find it shocking that I take cloth hankerchiefs, fold them in 4s and use them for coasters for my tea? Small projects are inspiring me to get out my machine... thanks for sharing!
