A bump in the road

My Dad fell Monday night and broke his hip and his arm.  He's elderly and has a number of serious health issues, and this newest development makes the situation very difficult.  We're completely distracted with his needs right now, so I won't be around much for a while.  Currently, he's in a hospital down the mountain, which is about an hour and a half drive from here, so the days are long.

His little dog, Jake, has come to live at our house -- probably permanently.  That makes the dog population here three, which is a challenge in itself.

One day at a time ...

I'm so sorry to hear about your dad. It is hard turning into a caregiver. Take care, and we will be here when you are back again.

Oh Heanne - I'm so sorry for this bad news. Busy days ahead, right? Take care, come back when you can.

Thinking of you all Jeanne - make sure you manage some 'me' time amongst all this even if it's just 5 minutes quiet with a cuppa here and there - if you're totally worn out you'll be in a less fit state to help him recover (((hugs)))

I am sure that Elvis and Jess will make Jake feel right at home. Sorry about your dad, taking care of our elderly parents isn't always easy. And you have done a great job with both your mom and dad, keeping them both happy. Take a deep breathe and don't forget some down time for yourself.

Hope your dad is on the mend soon from his fractures. Falls are so scary in the elderly!
