(Part I here)
Part II: I picked apart the leftover arcs so I could use all the vintage fabric. (Some of it is repros, though.) Because they were curved pieces, I could only get a scant 2 1/4" square from each one ... so the border proportions are a little "odd." I used those pieces down to the last shreds! I'm not crazy about the more modern T-o-T background areas, but since they were part of this quilt's legacy, they're in there.
I looked through all my vintage quilts reference books, but couldn't find anything done in this circle pattern, which is how the blocks were assembled when I got them. I wonder if the arcs were originally intended to be sections for a Double Wedding Ring project, but the second quilter put them together differently?
This is a 42" square, which will work nicely as a table topper. Since it won't be used in a dogs-digging-nests location, I'm *thinking about* hand quilting it. Which means it'd be at least another millennium before this quilt finally gets done ... :)
