My final "show and tell" for January is my eagle block for the Album Quilts of Ohio's Miami Valley group. It's a work-in-progress, with banner and corner stars yet to come. This was by far the most challenging thing I worked on this month. I'm not a good appliquer, as we can see (good thing this is a folk-art style project!) We had to design our own eagle blocks -- the book doesn't have patterns. Below are the two examples from the book that I used as my design inspiration.
Many of the other blocks are pieced, so I'll be on firmer ground as we go along. The hand applique will continue to be a learning curve ... maybe by the end of the year I'll have it mastered?

Your eagle looks wonderful! There's really a short learning curve on applique! By the next one, you'll be a master!
