Mountain Treasures XXII

Here are some of the lovely quilts that were hanging in our Busy Bears Guild show.  As you can see, the applique work being done here in Big Bear is exquisite!

This first one, with the bear paw/flying geese border, was the opportunity quilt being raffled off.  The ladies are already hard at work on next year's opportunity quilt!

This second quilt, with the rainbow braid, was awarded Best of Show.  The panels are digitized embroidery.

And several more examples of the lovely applique work this group specializes in ... ha, you can see why I feel like my pieced quilts  are "different" than the norm here, and why I was surprised to be recognized with an Honorable Mention.

Participating in the show was a fun and informative -- and tiring -- experience!  It was a real eye-opener to work on the set-up committee.  Next year I'll have a better idea of what to expect.  And by the way, my log cabin runners did sell :)

All of the quilts were so pretty. I love applique too. I do machine applique as I dont have the patience to do it by hand.

I find applique easier than piecing :O)...I can get very overwhelmed trying to piece.

Not surprised your table runners sold, bet the Halloween/Fall went first! :O)

Hope you had a great time. :)

Great that your runners sold. :-)

I love that quilt with the kitty and the butterflies. Thanks for sharing. Sometimes the differences are beautiful, and inspiring. You may start a rebellion.
