Catching my breath

Whew, it's been a busy couple of weeks! We've hosted three different sets of out-of-town guests, entertained my quilty friendship group (fourteen ladies came!), and held two different Fourth-of-July cookouts. I've worked my way through so many sheets and towels and meals and pots of coffee that I feel like we're running a bed-and-breakfast :) It's nice, though, that friends and family feel welcome here. My aunt and uncle appreciated their escape from the heat down in the Las Vegas desert. Tony's brother from Chicago greatly enjoyed his first visit to our mountains, and we're trying to talk him into retiring up here someday. Dave, Jessica and Frankie were as zany and dear as ever.

Tonight, though, we're home alone and settling back down to normal. I can't wait for some lazy summer days ...

The only creativity I've managed at all recently has been to stitch now and then on this binding -- "Oh Susannah" is finally done, only took two months! I'll probably use it as a table topper, and in any case it's off my UFO list.

It's a beautiful quilt Jeanne!!

How lovely to have all those visitors! We have the room but nobody ever comes!! Unless you count the endless line of teenage boys and girls who seem to think my home is their home!!!

Enjoy your summer! our days are getting colder.. lovely sewing weather!
