Thursday morning

The house painting project is continuing at a turtle's pace -- we're into our third week. It's a challenging house to paint, so many dormers and porches and edges, and also it was in baaaaad condition. LOTS of prep work and priming was needed!

Yesterday afternoon, an hour before quitting time, my working guys FINALLY put some red paint on the back porch for our approval! Heeheehee: and when I say red, I do mean RED!! But I just LOVE it -- I was smiling and laughing about it all evening. Hopefully, by the end of the day today, we'll see the rest of the house show its first coat of color.

I've been playing with the rose and sage block set, and I got the center of this project puzzled out last night. Borders to come ...

Oh Jeanne, the home is gonna look Fabulous! I la,la,LOVE red! ;)

and that sampler you are working on -looks as if it's being made to coordinate with the house - perhaps the first quilt to hang over the front porch banister? ;) That block in the middle of the bottom row - I forget it's name, but I choose that one several years back when I participated in a Fall colors themed swap. ;)

Hope it's stopped snowing for you and the guys!

Love from Texas! ~bonnie

It's heartstopping and WONDERFUL! You'll be the talk of the town for a few days, lol. We always said, go to the "pepto bismal" house and turn right...maybe you'll attain such fame.

Yes, I agree, your color choice on your new blocks are inspired by your house color! Would look fabulous drapped on the rocker on the porch!!

Why do these projects always take so much longer than expected? I think if we knew what was going to be involved before we started we'd never do anything!

I absolutely love the red porch. It's going to be fabulous for your house!

I hope you don't mind but I'm stealing your layout for your patriotic quilt to make a few donation quilts. I have a big stash of red, white & blue fabrics I want to use up and that nice simple block is perfect.
