Boy howdy -- I'm on a roll here this week!
Today I assembled this little wallhanging, And Sew On ...
It's not very exciting, and I have no use for it whatsoever, but it's DONE, ready to be quilted up this evening, and donated to our local non-profit thrift shop.
The story behind it starts with the last two days' B-a-D blocks : the spool of thread and the sewing machine. I made those same blocks last year, and used them last January in this larger sewing-themed project which also included a decent assortment of swap blocks.
So here I am, with the same two novelty blocks on my work table AGAIN, and what-to-do-what-to-do with them? I mean really -- what can you do with a sewing machine block except use it in a sewing-themed quilt? But I used all the GOOD companion blocks last year. All I had left were those pieced rows, circa 2003, or earlier, leftover from a row-by-row that only got to the third row before it fizzled. I'd always liked the yellow background fabric so I held onto them, but had no plans at all for the rows. Well, today they met their fate!
And this finishes my bundle of sewing novelties -- the remainder has been returned to general stash or laid to rest. No more sewing-themed wallhangings in the offing, ever.
This top today plus Cherry Cordial yesterday means I've freed up two UFO bags already this week!!! And so it goes ...
