Tuesday

Nick and Stacey are enjoying a belated honeymoon in Italy!

**********
I've been "lost in space" this month as far as quilting goes.  I haven't done a single thing since I finished piecing my big buckeye top, and that was more than two weeks ago.  I think part of my problem is that my "should do" project list never seems to get any shorter, so I never let myself work on "wanna do" stuff.  I just bog down and stop.  I decided to try some housekeeping and purging in the sewing room, to clear the decks and get myself back on track.

Five UFOs have been sent along to greener pastures -- it always helps to mentally lighten the load, doesn't it?  Fifteen yards of fabric have been bagged up for the guild bargain table.  A stack of old magazines and books have been shared with my friendship group.  Things are looking tidier and I'm ready to get inspired again.  Onward, to a new month ...

Can you tell I'm procrastinating on layering and quilting that big buckeye top?

A bit of backsliding ... added some yardage last week, but didn't use much.  At least I'm still in the black!

New Need'l Love!

I just read about this new release, and I'm excited!  I have a COMPLETE SET of Threads books, maybe close to a couple dozen -- they were my very first "prim" inspirations, years ago.  I like that each book offers a little bit of everything: quilting, stitchery, rug hooking, and quirky craft projects.  I've made many Need'l Love-inspired creations through the years!

They haven't put out a new one for a long time, and this one's going right at the top of my wish list.  I'd get it no matter what the topic, just to keep my collection complete -- but the fact that it's autumn-y, my favorite season,  makes it that much more enticing :)

BIG Buckeye Beauty!

Whew!  I've been trudging along on this top for a looooong time.  It has 1728 pieces ... and I only reversed three of the blocks as I was going along :)  Right now it's about 105" square, so it's a GIANT!  I'm thinking it will end up at about 98" - 99", with quilting take-up and shrinkage from washing.

It's destined for the newly-redecorated guest room upstairs, but it'll be a while yet before it's finally in place -- it still needs to be quilted and bound.

Purple

Two more B-a-D tops done!  I decided to concentrate on all the purple blocks, and came up with these two combos.  They will both probably become donation quilts.  Onward to backs and quilting ... and two more project bags have been retired!

May - red

Another month, another Monochromatic Challenge runner :)

Judy assigned red this time, and I just happened to have some red B-a-D blocks, haha.  (Honestly, those blocks are NEVER going to be gone!)  This month, though, rather than adding the runner to the boutique pile, my mom has decided to claim it.
