Monday

 Big disappointment today and forever after:  

This evening was the first Monday Night Football game of the season, and we were all set with our traditional opening night menu: Black Forest ham on dark rye sandwiches and apple-fennel slaw, beer and popcorn -- an annual ritual.  Monday Night Football has been a weekly 'date night' for us since Nick and Dave graduated from high school and went away to college. 

 So we'd just started watching the first quarter, and lo and behold:  an ICE recruitment commercial. ($50,000 signing bonus if you join the gestapo!) We were dumbfounded.  TV off.  I will never watch MNF again, ever, after 25 years.  There aren't many things I can control in life anymore, but I can maintain my integrity.
