The next post in the
series at Barbara Brackman's Material Culture blog has been published.
These articles are resonating with me because they are narrowing the overwhelming flood of bad news down to a subject area that is meaningful to me personally -- working with fabric is a daily part of my life and has been for many decades. The cost of textiles has an impact on me. Furthermore, Barbara Brackman's sharp political perspective is completely aligned with my own.
Sprinkled throughout the articles, Barbara is offering a varied selection of aptly-named quilt blocks to underscore her historical information. I've started to piece up some of them because quilt making and embroidery are my creative language, and I can 'comment' on current events via this dialect at this time.
