My specific quilty intention this year is stash reduction. I'm going to use RSC25 as the framework for this effort. Here at Spiral I can find reference to myself doing RSC as far back as 2013, so it's been quite a while! Our RSC challenge color for January is PINK.
Right out of the starting gate, I selected out this hefty mound of pink yardage and gifted it to Neomi, a craft friend here in town. These were mostly bright modern style prints, and I have absolutely no plans to make that type of quilt at any time in the future, so clearing them away has already lightened my load by many many yards.
My first RSC25 sewing goal each month will be batik 9-patch blocks in the designated color. Since I have drawers-full of batiks, I certainly won't be depleting it all, but anyway I will stop stockpiling and start consuming. 9-patch blocks coming next week.
I made a rainbow 9-patch quilt with RSC several years ago that was gifted away -- will be aiming for something similar.

Shopping from our stashes is a good thing! I keep trying to do that and for the most part I've been able to (just replacing what I run out of or maybe something special for gift-making). Sadly my sewing space still looks pretty much the same!
Glad that you will be able to use what you have. I am sure that the stack of pink fabric will be much loved in its new home.
You've made a great start and I'll bet the recipient of that fabric was tickled pink! Pretty quilt. Such a versatile block.
I love batiks, so looking forward to seeing your pink blocks appearing soon. I bet your friend was tickled pink to receive your gift.
I’m sure your friend was delighted to receive all those pink fabrics. Good for you!!
