Starowka

I'm restless and fussing around for something to distract myself with.  I think I'm going to sew along on Bonnie Hunter's 2024 Quiltville mystery, STAROWKA, scheduled to begin next Friday.

Here's my fabric pull, subject to change of course.  My reds are pretty light, so I'm going to substitute in yellows for Bonnie's pinks.  Her palette is blue, red, pink, and mine is tentatively blue, red, yellow.  I'm aiming for a springtime quilt.

I've done a number of the Quiltville mysteries in the past but haven't felt up to it every year. Some years I find Bonnie's intensity, and that of her followers, to be a bit too much for me.  Her designs are nice though, and maybe I need this much volume right now to fill in the shadowy corners of my brain.

Meanwhile, I'm piddling around with some scrap blocks.  The black fabric tub is spilling out onto the floor, so time for a little stashbusting.  Black and white chunky churns, and eventually some sort of bright sashing -- maybe turquoise, maybe not.
