Here is what Thanksgiving looked like the year I was born. I'm finding it difficult to be as thankful as usual this year -- Nick and Stacey and Rhiannon aren't here with us, and I'm afraid that the world is teetering on the brink of chaos.
I am thankful though, most of all for my family. I am so very thankful that Dave's family is so close by. I'm thankful that our house is well-built and sturdy, and I'm thankful for my lovely studio here. I'm thankful for the food we enjoy. I'm thankful for the crows and squirrels that visit me every day. I'm thankful for days when I do feel well and strong, and I'm thankful for quietness of heart and poise of spirit on days when I don't feel well.
Sigh. Happy Thanksgiving.

I think we all need to search a little harder for those smaller things that bring us joy and then remember to be grateful for them. Happy Thanksgiving, no matter what form it takes.
