Sooooo, I've reached the end of my attention span for star-making. I'm up to 35 stars, which with alternate blocks will give me a 7 x 10 layout. I'm not going to put them together on-point, just opting for the simpler basic checkerboard instead.
I unearthed a nice chunk of soft orangey-toned yardage for my alternate blocks, very similar to the vintage quilt we're being inspired by.

Looks great! Your attention span is certainly a whole lot more developed than mine because I know I'd only manage one or two before I'd lose interest.
I'm enjoying seeing your progress and I love the soft orange for the alternate blocks. No sewing or cross stitching here in the last month. We moved 4 weeks ago and are almost unpacked....8 large boxes in the garage and all belongs in my craft room. The house is lovely and we are still in the area of our friends but have a deep attachment to our old place. Maybe it's all the memories and the raising of our family for 48 years at the old place. Thankfully we have very nice neighbors on each side and behind us. I'm sure we'll adjust in time.
