Monday

I've been working with a set of pieced sampler blocks recently.  The blocks themselves are just simple classic patterns from a sew-along series, nothing fancy.
What I'm especially liking is the big feature print in the alternate blocks -- oranges, cinnamon sticks, rosemary sprigs -- it looks winterish to me, like mulled wine or pomander balls.  The pieced blocks are actually pretty much disappearing amongst the busy print blocks, but I'm OK with that -- I do like the oranges and the odd color palette, so that is my focal point.

I have a very limited amount of the feature fabric however, and I want the quilt to be larger, so I'm playing with border ideas.  We'll see where things end up.
This is going to be an "interesting" seasonal quilt!

I puzzled for awhile over the construction of this one. Not being a sane quilter sometimes these things elude me!
