Yesterday I read an article in the local news about a scheduled rocket launch from Vandenberg Air Force Base. We watched for it last evening and fortunately happened to be looking in the right direction at the right time -- pretty impressive! We saw this less than 2 minutes after the exact launch time. Vandenberg is almost 200 miles from here, so this was surprisingly bright and distinctive given the distance.
This was a SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket carrying 50-some Starlink satellites into space.
