RSC22: January - red

Another year of Rainbow Scrap Challenge!  We are beginning with RED as our focus color for January.  I have quite a few ideas for block sets this year -- we'll see how far my scraps and my time can stretch each month.

I'll be starting each month's color by completing the target number of 9-patch blocks necessary to fill the layout in my sketch.  This is a carryover project from last year and needs 225 blocks.  I already had 35 red blocks on hand, and I made 7 more this month, so now I'm done making red 9ps for this block set.

This week I also made three 9" Churn Dash blocks which feature red 1800s fabrics.  I have an overwhelming excess of 1800s fabrics, and this project won't even begin to make a dent in it.

I made a similar RSC quilt some years ago, so this new one will be Churns 2.0.  I'll be aiming for 35 blocks for this set.

I'll have more RSC activity to share next week.  Meanwhile, find more RED scraps to enjoy at
