Tuesday

I'm trying to reignite my interest in quiltmaking -- haven't done anything since summer.  I have a nice workroom here in the new house, with all my furniture and tools and supplies set up, but until now my motivation has been zero.

I pulled out these assorted Christmas blocks, orphans from a sew-along that I fizzled out on and a couple of long-ago workshops.  I'm thinking maybe they could be developed into holiday nap quilts for the little boys, but nothing definite yet.

We won't hold our breaths looking for progress though:
I'm just drifting at this point, not diving in.

What lovely blocks and a great foundation for quilts, big or small! They will be beautiful, no matter what you do with them.

Sometimes drifting is just what we need to do. Think of it in terms of a butterfly, flitting from one flower to another until it finds the tastiest one. Sometimes telling yourself that you will sit down and create for only 15 minutes will jump start the process too. I often do that and then am surprised to look up and find that hours have gone by and not the original 15 minutes I thought I would force myself to do.

I have been drifting too. From one project to the next. Little progress made and a very messy sewing studio. Hard to concentrate on anything with so much craziness in the world right now. But I’m praying things will clam down soon.
