I've been enjoying time spent with Sharon Keightley's TREASURES FROM THE SCRAP BIN sew-along recently. We are working toward this pieced and appliqued table mat.
This week we were officially only supposed to be piecing the little shoo-fly blocks for the center section, but I was enjoying myself, so I worked ahead! I finished piecing and assembling the entire background: shoo-flys, alternate blocks, sashing and scrappy border. All of this is preparation for the applique, which is going to take me a while! My next step will be making bias stems.
