Stars in Her Crown

The final installment of Barbara Brackman's sew-along

Queen Victoria's nine children are represented in the royal purpley-mauve colors that were in vogue at the time.  My gold star is for Victoria's first son, Bertie, who became King Edward VII.
We added the pieced borders this week to complete the secondary stars, so this flimsy is officially 'done' per the sew-along instructions.  But it's extremely wavy due to the many triangles, so I'm thinking of adding a straight-of-grain outer border to calm down the bias edges.  Then it moves onward to the to-be-quilted basket.  No particular destination in mind for this quilt, I just did it for the sew-along experience.

Thanks for another interesting and successful series, Barbara!

That is such an interesting pattern. I like how the block corners form the secondary stars. Your choice of mauve is so appropriate, and to feature the King in gold is truly inspired. I'll be interested to see your border choice.
