The final block for Barbara Brackman's
was released yesterday!
A Double Life
I had finished piecing the alternate blocks a while ago, so it was quick work to get the top assembled.
At this point, the project dimensions are 60" x 60". I'd like my quilt to be larger though, so I'm simmering on some ideas for adding borders to increase the size. I have limited amounts of the light and the pink used in the alternate blocks, so design decisions will need to take that into consideration. I'll come back to this project later this winter.
Now that Antebellum Album has concluded, Barbara Brackman will be offering two new sew-along series. The first one, Stars in Her Crown, begins on January 5 and continues for ten blocks. The second one, Hospital Sketches, begins at the end of January and will involve nine applique blocks. I'm not sure I will participate in either one this time: hoping to do some of my own projects for a while, including delving into Brackman's new book, Kansas City Star Quilts Sampler.

Your blocks look so beautiful all together! I’m going to keep an eye on Barbara’s 2019 sew along’s—like you I’m hoping to tackle some projects I’ve had on the back burner for a while.
