Shifting gears

In conjunction with the workroom decluttering inevitably comes some mental and spiritual decluttering and reorganizing ...

On my mind for consideration this weekend:

1.  Reasons to continue making quilts - my quiltmaking journey has changed direction several times already in the past couple of decades, and I seem to be at another fork in the road.

2.  Reasons to continue blogging - this activity has also taken several reincarnations since I began blogging in 2004.  Wonder where I'm at with it these days?

At 77' I sometimes feel the same. You have done so much more than me , but I just do not want to quit. It makes me feel good with life. Stop if you must and thanks you for your years. Marilyn

I love reading your blog and seeing the quilts you are making. I have more quilts in my home than I'll ever be able to use or part with. I also still have lots of kits for quilts I no longer want to make. I have started making throw size charity quilts. I enjoy piecing and it gives my mind to go when I am making the quilt and then I can release it for someone else to enjoy.

The age related weariness is where I am also. I gave up blogging a few years back. Sometimes I miss it, but for the most part I'm happy just to read a few special blogs on my narrowed down list. As far as your blog goes, I enjoy pictures of your home, decorated for the seasons, pictures of the dogs, and recipes you suggest. Also like to see those jigsaw puzzles that you and your husband put together.

In my life I've noticed that my interests change every few years -- as few as 2 or 3 and as long as 7 or 8. Quilting has been the longest. I think we just need to reevaluate sometimes. I know I haven't been a regular commenter on your blog posts but I'm a consistent reader and would miss seeing your creative endeavors should you choose to quit blogging and/or quilting.
