My current project was inspired by this quilt, Nine Patch and Crossroads, from Betsy Chutchian's book, Gone to Texas.
I've been collecting "purple and red" 1800's fabrics for a long time, a yard here and another yard there, with nothing specific in mind. (By now, of course, I have enough to make ***several*** quilts.) Last week the muse suddenly whispered in my ear and this tub o' fabrics was ready for action.
Besides choosing my own color scheme, and increasing the number of blocks, I'm not planning to use the little center square in the X blocks.
I finished the 9-patch blocks this afternoon.
The pieces have been cut and sorted for the X blocks, and they'll be coming up later this week.
