For the sixth year now, I'm unable to celebrate this holiday. The country has changed so much. I try not to dwell on it because it truly breaks my heart.
No celebration here either, only sadness. I had dinner with my family and told the kids we were having strawberry shortcake, no blueberries again this year, to honor the canadian flag, just in case we need to move north. What a world we have created for them.

Most definitely a shortage of independence and I agree that there's not a whole lot to celebrate at the moment.
