Odds and ends

Good mail today!  I've been looking forward to receiving the winter issue of PQ and P since I saw the preview on their website.

Several projects have caught my eye, and I can't wait to jump into the Country Christmas quilt this weekend!

Bonnie Hunter will be offering a new Mystery Quilt series beginning next week.  The clues will be posted on Fridays for seven or eight weeks.  Her designs are always very scrappy and complex, and her instructions are detailed and conversational.  If you're looking for an *intense* mystery quilt challenge, check her out!  I have some fabrics pulled out, but so far I'm still at the "just thinking about it" stage :)

MY NEW EXERCISE PROGRAM:
Begin by standing on a comfortable surface, where you have plenty of room at each side.  With a 2 lb potato sack in each hand, extend your arms straight out from your sides and hold them there as long as you can.  Try to reach a full minute, and then relax.

Each day you'll find that you can hold this position for just a bit longer. After a couple of weeks, move up to 5 lb potato sacks. Then try 25 lb potato sacks and then eventually try to get to where you can lift a 50 lb potato sack in each hand and hold your arms straight for more than a full minute. (I'm at this level)

After you feel confident at that level, put a potato in each of the sacks ...

Now that is my kind of exercise program! ;) I read it to my daughter (we're watching Harry Potter movies) and she likes it too!!

ROFL I LOVE your new exercise program and I'm game to have a go at it. :D Oh, I've missed you, Jeanne. You and Finn were a couple of my very first quilt blogs that I found, and I always looked forward to each month shading into the next and you would have a quilt to go with the month. I'm glad you're posting again...I'm having a huge obsession with the new magazine. I have drool all over both of the issues. LOL

OK, I could DO that exercise! rofl
Your new blog style looks sharp. I'm glad you're still "on the air." (That dates me!) I've been enjoying your Big Bear adventures. The PQP mag looks interesting. I admire the expertise required to take such beautiful photos. It does make for a very professional looking blog.

Blessings!

Your new exercise program sounds a lot like mine. For the past week I have gotten on my treadmill, and next week I'm going to turn it on.

I've also been thinking about Bonnie Hunter's new mystery quilt. I love the results of her quilts, just not sure if I'm up to the challenge.

Thank you for the chuckle. I needed that! =)

I'm in on Bonnie's Mystery. Her patterns are some of my favorites. I know they are major commitments tho. Hope you are able to fit it in.
