"The next twelve days are the mystical interval between Christmas and Epiphany, when time is suspended and magic can happen. It's a thoughtful time, filled with reflection and expectation."
The weeks before Christmas are so hectic and full, there's hardly enough time to catch one's breath, much less be meditative. I decided this year to take time after Christmas Day instead to appreciate the gifts of my life. My thoughts and reflections will be loosely based on the traditional European holidays that take place during these twelve days, as outlined in a favorite book, The Winter Solstice by John Matthews.
Today I am celebrating the beauty of nature in this wonderful valley high in the mountains! I wake up every single morning filled with gratitude that I am able to live in this amazing place. This is an actual photo from yesterday morning, it is gorgeous up here!

Beautiful! We share your joy.
I always enjoy taking Boxing Day off, just to take a breather. I hope you enjoyed your day. And what a beautiful photo - how lovely to live there.
I never thought of epiphany before, but last year our pastor did series on epiphany and taking that 12 days to really slow down, take deep breath and be more thankful is a great idea. Gorgeous view.
Hi Jeanne! WOWEE! That picture. God does beautiful work - all we have to do is be aware of it and enjoy it. Thank you for sharing! I love the idea of the 12 days between Christmas and Epiphany. ~smile~ Roseanne
