Stitch Club - July

I just finished this mat for July Stitch Club!

The theme this month is sashiko.  The pattern I used is a classic 'asa no ha' design, but my color choices are non-traditional.

I enjoyed this relaxing and soothing stitchery technique.  I have several more of these preprinted sampler squares, and will definitely return to this technique to make something larger.

Sashiko does look as though it would be a relaxing stitch. Your little mat looks perfect and must have been fun to do.

Sweet stitchery! I like the way you finished it. I’ve not tried Sashiko but have done a Kantha stitch on linen for pillow covers. That was fun.
