A roundabout gratitude:
Our refrigerator went out all together overnight yesterday. It came with the house, and has had problems twice already since September, and this time a major food compromise occurred just when I had the holiday goodies stowed away. Big sad sigh. Lost quite a bit of food.
We are having a new one delivered and installed today, having decided to cut to the chase and resolve it once and for all. I am GRATEFUL that we have the means to purchase an unexpected new refrigerator! Delivery scheduled between 1 and 4 pm, which is exactly the time Dave's family will be arriving, so that will most certainly add some unanticipated extra chaos on top of the little boys' excitement about Christmas.
We were supposed to be having a baked ham tonight for Christmas Eve, but now it seems that we will be ordering pizza. But that's OK -- I am VERY GRATEFUL that we will be celebrating the holiday with Dave and family, and we will enjoy whatever food we eat together!!

Oh wow - that's so NOT fun!!! It's wonderful that you can get a new one delivered so fast but sad that you have to do that at all. I'm sure everyone will be just so happy to be together that it won't matter in the least that the menu has to change.
ReplyDeleteWe must all remember to be grateful this year, that's for sure. Enjoy your time with family!
