Lightening the load

I've been doing some serious purging in my workroom this week!  I get to feeling bogged down -- to the point of paralysis -- when I have many projects waiting, accusingly, for my attention.  There are quite a few that I'm no longer interested in, and I've decided that I don't need to force myself to finish them.  This is supposed to be fun!  More and more often recently, I've been feeling like I'm nearing the end of my quilting journey.

The following UFOs have been bundled up and sent onward (along with all associated blocks, fabrics and backing yardage) to our local Patches of Love program.  There they'll be completed and donated to appropriate service projects.  Some of these have been around for several years, so it feels refreshing to move ahead.

I have days I feel like that, then I see something new that inspires me to keep making quilts.

You're right, quilting should bring you joy and not be a burden. How wonderful that you are able to share your gifts and talents with others. I do hope that once the projects that don't bring you joy are out of the way, the ones that do will shine through so you can keep quilting.
